PITCH CYCLE 2 2024 OPEN POSITIONS
INVESTMENT ANALYST
Investment Analysts within ASAM are responsible for driving investment pitch ideas within the fund. This program empowers individuals with an interest in funds management to learn the key skills needed to work professionally as an analyst in public markets. The analyst’s key function is to become a genuine subject matter expert within a particular company, industry or field of interest. The analysts are responsible for sourcing both new investment ideas and researching existing portfolio positions to ensure the fund stays invested in line with its mandate.
As part of this role, the analyst will be expected to:
Stay up to date on markets with a particular focus on the Australian equity markets
Source public markets investment ideas
Conduct analysis and due diligence for investment pitches
Attend conferences, workshops and education events as needed
Dialogue with senior stakeholders including portfolio managers and investment committee to communicate ideas, pitch potential investments and receive training
Business Team Member
Business Team Members within ASAM are crucial for both its day-to-day operations and long-term growth. Business Team Members work alongside the CIO (Chief Investment Officer) and COO (Chief Operations Officer) to facilitate a supportive and seamless environment that allows the fund to perform to its best. The team members will experience firsthand what it takes to keep a fund running, and work alongside industry professionals on how to resolve unique conflicts and issues. ASAM is currently looking for motivated person to join its Marketing, Human Resources and External Relations teams.
As part of this role, the team member will be expected to:
Develop strategies and deliverables in line with the wider plans and goals of their department and of the fund
Communicate and organise with external partners
Liaise consistently with the board
Attend conferences, workshops, and educational events as needed
Ideal candidate
We are looking for analysts who are passionate about equity markets, love to be challenged and are constantly seeking new knowledge and point of views. The ideal candidate would be an independent thinker, hard working with a passion for research and analysis. Our fund operates as a meritocracy, where fund allocation and progression are determined by performance.
Ideally, we are looking for students with at least 2 years remaining on their degrees. This is to allow enough time to adequately train and prepare a body of experience that is valuable within industry as a graduate analyst. Please note, the fund is currently headquartered in Sydney, Australia. While there is no restriction on applications from students in other cities, please note that events and workshops will be conducted in Sydney. As attendance at these events is an important feature of fund participation, non-Sydney applicants will need to clearly demonstrate their commitment to this aspect.
